Standby, prime or continuous
The same engine is rated differently depending on how it will be used. We size every set from a load study, so it is rated for the duty it will actually see.
Standby
Runs only when the grid fails. Load varies, and running hours per year are limited. Suits homes, offices, hospitals and shops on a mostly reliable supply.
Prime
The main source of power, with unlimited running hours at a varying load. Suits factories, sites with long outages and places off the grid.
Continuous
Runs non-stop at a steady base load, for unlimited hours. Suits process industry and captive power plants.
Gas or diesel
Gas generators run on pipeline natural gas, with no fuel to store or deliver and lower running costs where a gas connection is available. Diesel generators carry their own fuel, so they work anywhere and pick up load quickly.
We recommend the fuel based on your site, your gas connection and how many hours a year the set will run.
